IGTRF Open Day

26 September 2025

10:00-

12:00

As part of Scotland’s National Innovation Week, the Image-Guided Therapy Research Facility (IGTRF) at the University of Dundee invites you to experience how we translate bold ideas into reality, from the first sketch of a concept through to international adoption.

At IGTRF we combine state-of-the-art imaging, high-end simulation, and a realistic catheter lab environment with University of Dundee's unique, life-like, perfused Thiel models, offering innovators and industry partners unparalleled opportunities to develop, test, and validate their technologies in settings that replicate real clinical conditions.

This event is your opportunity to:
– Tour Europe’s only mobile Photon Counting Detector CT scanner
– Experience a live stroke thrombectomy performed on our high-fidelity simulator or perfused human model, the same platform that has enabled thrombectomy cases locally and in numerous countries across the world.
– See how devices are tested and de-risked in our perfused life-like models, unique to IGTRF and not available elsewhere in Europe.
– Learn from case studies of successful innovations, including the Flow-Buddy infusion flow sensor and Brainomix AI stroke imaging software (now deployed globally).
– Connect with skilled engineers and machinists to learn about precision manufacturing, design, and prototyping within MedTech.

Whether you are an entrepreneur, clinician, academic, or industry leader, the IGTRF Open Days are designed to showcase how Dundee is leading innovation in imaging, device testing, regulatory compliance and clinical translation.

Join us to explore new collaborations, see ground breaking technologies in action, and discover how IGTRF supports innovators along the development pathway.
